Day 180: Wine country
Leaving Chile today and into Argentina! The whole point of this trip was to make it to this country. It’s here where the Southern most city in the world resides, Ushuaia on the island of Tierra del Fuego. That place is still a few weeks away but I’m still super excited to be getting close.
Lots of decals at this gas station. Find mine!
Going up the mountain pass towards the border at Paso Los Libertadores. Lots of switchbacks.
This place is very cold and gets a lot of snow in the winter. The entire border crossing was inside this big warehouse-like building. Both the Chilean and Argentine offices are here. Overall very quick and easy.
Cute girls working here. You should have seen the Argentine Aduana chica 😉 yep, I’m liking Argentina already.
Argentina and especially this area is world renowned for it’s wine. The entire country side surrounding Mendoza is littered with vineyards. I might have to do a wine tour while I’m here.. even though I usually don’t drink wine.. I usually don’t care for the stuff but a few of the bottles we had in Chile were pretty good 😉
We made it into Mendoza before dark and got settled into a hostel. Shortly after arriving, who pulls up? Fabian from Colombia! It was completely unplanned and made for a funny coincidence. I haven’t seen him in a few weeks.
Later on in the night the 3 of us went out to walk around the town and grab some chow. LOTS of good looking chicas here!
